As we continue sheltering through, we will be offering remote classes, for the safety of our students. Since mid-March, we have successfully conducted productive sessions with our students, who mentioned that they were better able to focus and learn on a deeper level. What was noticeable was the progress they were able to make in developing their various artistic skills, especially in drawing and painting. Understanding art history and world culture is essential, so this will also be integrated and discussed in context.
SUMMER TEEN ART CAMP is created to help develop the young artist’s mind and curiosity. The course will be geared to have students experiment with new ideas, approaches and mediums. Drawing as the foundation, how to observe light/shadow, understanding scale. proportions/perspectives with various subjects figurative, architectural and other.
What our instructor will encourage is for each teen to find their voice and create original works that reflect this. Art mediums the class will explore will include: charcoal, pastels, paint, clay, printmaking and mixed media. We will even dabble in a few culinary arts and sewing/fashion design.
